Stennett Kekoa Alapa

With great sadness we share the passing of our beloved son, brother, husband and father,
Stennett Kekoa Alapa. Stennett loss his battle to lung cancer and passed away peacefully at the
age of 54 on September 3rd, 2022, 18 days shy of his 55th birthday at his residence in
Kaʻaʻawa.


September 21st, 1967 Stennett was born at Kahuku hospital to parents G. Harvey and
Dardenellas Alapa. Stennett was a retired union member of Operator Engineer Local III and a
former member of the labor union #368. He is a proud graduate of Kahuku High & Intermediate
school. Growing up in Hauula, he met and married the love of his life for 27 years, his wife,
Toavalu Finai Alapa. Stennett is survived by his three sons, Malosi (Mileka), Stennett Jr. (Ihi),
and Thorton (Jarvel) as well as his only daughter, Vendella Alapa. He is also a proud
grandfather to his four beautiful grandchildren, Zaraiyah, Raider James, Ezmei and Marvelle.
Stennett is also survived by his three brothers, Clarence (Nancy), Terrance (Leimomi) and Lyle
Kapono Alapa. Along with his two sisters Tezra Alapa Aloua (Perth) and Candice Alapa
Nakasone (Jaime). As well as his numerous aunties, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
On Friday, October 14th, 2022 we his family will be honoring him with a funeral service at
Hauula Makai Chapel, 53-058 Kamehameha Hwy, Hauula, HI 96717. Family viewing will start at
12:00 pm to 1:00 pm accompanied by the public viewing from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm with his
service to follow. After the services we will be celebrating Stennett’s life with a dinner at 53-772
Kamehameha Hwy, Hauula, HI 96717.
